WHAT is duo?

At DUO we believe in practices that create connection between both body and+ mind

To really take care of ourselves, we must look after both equally - between a variety of styles in mat Pilates, assisted stretch therapy + wellness events, DUO has you covered

We are welcoming + inclusive community wether you are completely new to your wellbeing journey or a seasoned expert, we have space for you

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

We offer different class styles to offer as much variety as we can. All classes are suitable for every age, every level + every body.

RESISTANCE - a strength + form focussed session using weight + programming to target specific muscle groups

FLOW - whilst still incorporating the Pilates principles this session is much more relaxing with a focus on stretching + breathing

SPICE - this one lives up to the name, a fun filled full body burn with some more challenging + progressive movements

SPICE X FLOW - Mixing spicy movements with relevant stretches to leave you feeling like you’ve worked hard, but still zen.

FUSION - The only class we offer that doesn’t adhere to the Pilates principles or method, therefore this class is only Pilates inspired. At its core, it is a high intensity Pilates inspired workout (sweaty, bring a towel)

instructor

Alex is a dedicated Pilates instructor with experience as a functional fitness coach + personal trainer. DUO body + mind was created with the knowledge Alex has gained throughout her time in industry to bring you a fun, meaningful practice that really drives the connection between your body + your mind.

As DUO has grown, it has become a fun filled inclusive space that welcomes people of all ages, levels + bodies. Alex creates a safe + comfortable environment where every body is welcome.

DO i need to bring my own mat?

DUO provides mats as a complimentary service, however if you wish to bring your own mat you are more than welcome to do so.

WHat should i wear?

You should wear whatever you feel comfortable in + ensure you can move easily in your clothing. It is advisable to wear tighter fitting tops to avoid T-shirts falling in your face in downward facing movements.

We offer a completely judgement free space so please wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

How will a class look?

You will be welcomed in to the studio + if you have any reservations or if you’re feeling nervous in any way we will look to put you at ease. We are a very friendly bunch.

All sessions begin with alignment + breath work as it is fundamental to our practice. This will move in to a warm up, followed by the main body of the workout + we will always finish with a gentle cool down, stretching off specific muscles we have worked throughout the session.

Do i need to be fit / flexible to start?

Absolutely not, everyone has a different starting point in their journey + DUO will always meet you where you are + guide you from there.

Pilates is for everyone, you do not have to be fit, flexible, have matching gym sets, or drink matcha to join in. Simply step through the door + we will figure the rest out together.
